Our Story

Hi, I’m Karen Bonnici, the creator of Super Blanky®. I’m so glad you’re here.

It all started with my nieces and nephews. I handcrafted superhero blankets for them, and their excitement sparked something in me. That’s how Super Blanky® was born, eventually making its way to Target®.

When the pandemic changed everything, including shopping habits, my Target run ended. But I wasn’t ready to give up. I dreamed of creating something that would bring comfort, joy, and inspiration to people of all ages—kids, teens, and adults alike.

During this time, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The day before my surgery, I placed a factory deposit for new production—a quiet act of hope and determination to live forward. That moment reminds me of the importance of believing in a future filled with possibilities, even in the hardest times.

Now, cancer-free, I’m proud to share Super Blanky® as more than just a blanket—it’s a symbol of resilience, imagination, and warmth. I hope it inspires you to embrace life’s moments with courage, joy, and creativity.

I love love love this blanket! The arm pockets are so much better than the sleeved blanket I own. I get too hot and sweaty in the sleeved one. This one stays on while I go about my day without smothering me. Long enough to snuggle up in but not so long that it drags on the floor (I'm 5'3"). It's particularly fabulous for working at my desk - I've got the freedom to type etc and the blanky stays right where I want it.

Bought this for my wife's birthday because of the fact that she is almost always Cold! I can be in a tank top and shorts and she is wandering the house in a blanket lol. When she unwrapped it, she ooed and ahhed about the softness. It's the end of June and it's 80* outside, we have the AC at 72 and she wore it for at least an hour! It will be lovingly stored until her next 'cold spell' hits her.I have bought 2 other similar 'cloaks' but this is the only one that covers her to the floor. I think we have found the perfect Body Wrap! Highly recommended!
